Canyon Country
Community Enhancement Plan and Geo Caching the Canyons in 2011.
2011 Marks the 5th Birth Day for Canyon Country Media,
and this year we are celebrating our success by giving back to the
communities within Canyon Country. These communities that have supported
our mission to grow into the online voice for tourism in our region. So
this year there is a few things our crew will be doing to enhance
tourism in our community with hands on campaigns that will take
travelthecanyon.com and bring it to the streets. The first of many is
our 2011 Geo Caching Campaign. The goal is to place 30 new geo caches in
Canyon Country (Between Harrison and Cache Creek.) in places that do not
already have Geo Caches. A world wide adventure geo caching is like a
global modern treasure hunt using Global Positioning systems (GPS) To
seek and locate Caches usually located in a particular point of interest
like a view point, landmark or scenic/historic location. Geo Caching
began in year 2000 when significant improvements to the GPS system were
introduced. This is when the first Cache was hidden and posted on the
world wide web for people to find. Since then over a million cache sites
are located around the world and geo caching has become a favorite
activity for travelers world wide. What is required to geo cache? An
adventurous spirit, a GPS device and a free membership to
www.geocaching.com. During this campaign we will also seek out and
enhance previously placed Geo Caches in the area by placing desirable
prizes inside them and by promoting them within our planed Geo Caching
Guides. The outcome is making our area an even stronger Geo Caching
destination than it already is, and promoting people to make more
frequent stops through out all the Canyon Communities. Other great
campaigns to enhance our tourism experience in 2011 will be announced
soon so stay tuned to www.LegalAddictions.ca for what’s next! In the
mean time grab a GPS locator and head for the hills.
