"trans-continental" Railway. Historic Emory City sits on the famous
location of the "First Spike" of the CPR. Home to the first newspaper
in mainland British Columbia. Throughout the generations, Emory Bar in the Fraser Canyon
has been host to several significant historical events. Today, it is
still a popular stop along the scenic Fraser Canyon Highway. Emory City
is host to the Hope River General Store & ESSO, Emory Bar RV Park,
Hope River Deli, Side Car Cafe, and, of course, a beautiful park and
picnic area complete with Emory City's very own caboose.
