Disgruntled Spirits from the Grave Say "No" to Provincial Smoking Ban atone of B.C.'s Most Popular Attractions
----------------------------------------------------------

BOSTON BAR, British Columbia: With plumes of cigarette smoke lingering throughout Haunted Hells Gate, Spirit of the Canyon "The Face in the River".the fresh Fraser Canyon air, it seems like B.C.'s smokers are not the only ones who aren't prepared to "butt out".  The dead don't agree, either! "It's been an interesting winter to say the least," chuckles Debbie McKinney, long-time General Manager of Hell's Gate
Airtram. "There always seems to be someone smoking around here. but there's never anyone at the end of the cigarette!"
According to McKinney, the staff and management are not the only ones to complain about the disembodied cigarette smoke: customers have complained about it, too. "It is just something that we will have to keep an eye - and nose - on!" adds McKinney. The popular attraction was deemed officially haunted by a Vancouver-based paranormal research group last winter.

The photo depicts the outline of a spooky face that was spotted in the Fraser River. The photo was taken just above the Hell's Gate gorge by a visitor, who submitted the photo to the Airtram Management. "We sent the photo to a photo analysis lab in Vancouver, and they told us it was a classic case of 'Pareidolia,'"  says McKinney's brother Brian. The term pareidolia describes a psychological phenomenon where an individual perceives a vague and random image or sound to be significant. Continues Brian, "Not everyone agrees with the findings. The spooky face is just part of the eerie mystique that has been going on in and around the Hell's Gate Airtram property."

tHE hAUNTED COOK STOVE

Haunted Hells Gate Fraser Canyon Canada

The very cook stove was used in the 1800's to feed the railway worked, with the deadly history that surrounds the construction of the railway, especially in these parts it is no wonder for decades many have believed this cook stove and the original cook house that still stands today to be haunted, occasionally staff and visitors alike have noticed abnormal amounts of heat radiation from the stove, even on some of the coldest days, this stove has not been kindled for over nearly 100 years.

This Photo is the original foundation to the Haunted Hells Gate cook stove. The hard wood and the cement are apart of the original Canadian Pacific Railway cookhouse during its construction in the 1800's. The building now houses apart of the restaurant, gift shop and museum at Hells Gate.

Haunted doorway

Visitors to Hells Gate Airtram may not know that the building which houses the gift shop was once a cook house that fed the construction workers of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Is it the original hardwood flooring that does the talking? or is it the young girl that stands behind the curtain of the "haunted doorway"  I guess that depends on who you ask. Countless visitors, paranormal study groups and staff have experienced the paranormal in this small corner of Hells Gate, in fact most of the feedback received by staff at this attraction are related to the haunted door!
