Columbia into a rural American town in the filming of the blockbuster hit
Rambo First Blood. Over the next several months hope and the Fraser Canyon
experienced gas station explosions, gun fire and stunt men. As excited as as
the locals were to be apart of such a major film project in there home town,
little did they know the legacy that would be left behind for ever. The
Success of Rambo First Blood led into a series of 4 films made from 1981 -
2007. Rambo fanatics from around the world travel to the small town of Hope
British Columbia to get a glimpse of what people now call Rambo Town. Many
of the original locations used in this film are still left unchanged so fans
can really see and touch many of the sets and props used in the film. The
Hope Visitor Info Center and museum in Hope BC has a great selection of
props, and film memorabilia available for viewing. There knowledgeable staff
can provide you with information on the film, great stories and directions
to filming locations. Over 25 years have passed and the legend of Rambo town

The Othello Tunnels in Hope BC is not

raging canyon to construct a series of bridges and tunnels that blast

Lake in Hope BC is a great place to beat the heat, with public beach, boat
rentals and more also you can stay at one of the many local accommodations

with private lake access. kawaka Lake is near the Coquihalla Canyon
and the Othello tunnels. This lake has great recreational opportunities,

Provincial Park is a most magnificent valley full of pristine lakes, wild life, canyons and valleys, lakes, rivers and streams. It is a heaven for
outdoor adventure, beautiful scenery and much more! Manning Provincial is a
bird watchers heaven with over 200 species of birds ranging in all
altitudes. In the summer, there is endless mountain hiking. In the winter,
you can go alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross country and skate skiing, and
snow showing at Manning Park Resort.

Facilities are available for rent outside of public hours, and make a great venue for group events. The Fraser River
The Fraser River is the largest fish producing water course in the province and the worlds largest
supporter of the spawning sockeye salmon. Because of this, millions of Spring, Coho, Chum, Pink and
Sockeye salmon pass through the canyon on their way to spawning grounds every year.
Canada's Second Largest River over 1300 km long one of the most commercially rafted river's in the world.
In the Canyon the River is wedged between the Cascade Mountain Range and the Coastal Pacific Mountain Range
narrow rock canyon wall's cut a windy and narrow passage for the mighty Fraser

Fraser cANYON tUNNELS
The Fraser Canyon Highway
Tunnels were constructed in the late 1950's to about the mid 1960's as
part of the Trans Canada project. There are seven tunnels in total, the
shortest being 57 m (190 ft); the longest, is 610 meters
(2,000 ft) and is one of North America's longest. They are situated between
Yale and Boston Bar.
Alexandra Provincial Park
Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park is a small park centered around the site of the original
Caribou Wagon Road bridge over the Fraser River.
The original bridge was constructed in 1861 by Joseph W. Trutch and named after Princess Alexandra of Wales.
To recover the $45,000 construction cost for the 90 meter bridge, a toll of $7.40 per ton was charged.
Today a second bridge, built in 1926, sits on the site of the original which was dismantled in 1912.
The park was established in 1984.
It provides both rest stop and picnic facilities for travelers.
Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park is two kilometers north of Spuzzum and 40 km north of Hope.
There is a hiking trail that can lead visitors down to the site of the old Alexandra Bridge.
Part of this trail is remnant of the old highway from the 1920s. This trail is less than
? km in length one way.
Fish passing through this area to tributaries of the Fraser include Pink, Chum,
Spring, Coho and Sockeye. Anyone fishing or angling in British Columbia must have
the appropriate
license.
The park is open April 28 to October 9.
