35 years! Nicomen House 1869 Thompson River Canyon - Kumsheen Rafting Resort36 Years of Experience
Since 1973, Kumsheen has rafted more river miles on the Thompson River and Fraser River than everyone else combined. We are the premiere Canadian rafting operation west of the Ottawa River. Although we have grown, Kumsheen still prides itself on being a family operation that cares for everyone that visits the resort.

Bernie Fandrich, who pioneered Kumsheen Rafting, was the first ever to take paying customers down the Thompson River. Because of this, he named most of the rapids himself such as Witch's Cauldron, Jaws of Death, Devil's Kitchen, and Washing Machine; let us just say the name is a good indicator of what these rapids have in store for you!

Kumsheen Rafting also houses its second resort location in the Thompson Canyon for campers and use as a scenic lunch stop during rafting trips complete with banquet facilities on the edge of the Thompson Canyon wedged behind the Nicomen Falls cliff side. This is the site of the 1860 Nicomen House seen above. This building no longer exists.
