North Bend is a small community located across the Fraser River from Boston Bar. North Bend is the gateway to the Nahatlatch River Valley & Provincial Park and Skuzzy Creek Provincial Park which offers great camping and sport fishing. You can hike to North Bend Lake and camp for the night. You can drive up Moon Road lookout to get a bird's eye view of the Canyon! Railway lovers can watch the CPR trains dock at station where the longest trains in the world pass by. Right in North Bend is a outdoor public pool to enjoy in the hot Canyon summers. Also located right in North Bend is Jim & Vicki's Guest Ranch with Bed and Breakfast and horse back trail rides. A great place to spend some time and explore the beautiful scenery!

North Bend School house community center

North Bend School House Community Center  is located in the Old School House for North Bend Primary School. Close to a decade ago the Elementary School was closed and moved to Boston Bar, since then the Local Citizens of North Bend and Boston Bar have worked to convert this building into a multi use community center. The school house is surrounded with a large parcel of land. If you are traveling with your dog this is a great place to let your dog go for a run! Also on the grounds are swing sets, benches picnic tables and a outdoor covered gathering and play area. The park has recently had some face lifts with some gardens along the front and entrance to the building and a community garden in the fields. Inside you will find a Thrift Store, Health and Wellness Store, Community Activities Gathering Rooms, Seniors Center, Museum and Archives and more! The building has recently been retro fitted for wheelchair lifts making this facility more accessible. Located on Chomaux Road in North Bend BC just minutes off the Trans-Canada Highway.

Almer Carlson Pool

Almer Carlson Pool in North Bend BC is a seasonal outdoor pool great for summer cool downs in the Hot Summer Canyon Days. They also provide great swimming lessons programs and evening aqua-fit programs, through out the summer the pool is host to great events for children of all ages, such as day camps, and day trips, camping trips, rafting trips and more! Almer Carlson Pool also is host to adult activities like adult and senior swim times. Soda, and small snacks are available. Located on a park like setting with beach volley ball, bike racks and picnic areas.

The Nahatlatch River Valley

To get to the Nahatlatch River Lakes and River Valley, take the Trans-Canada Highway, head east until you reach Boston Bar, turn left and head through North Bend and then follow Chaumox Road. The drive is amazing! Along the west side of the Fraser, you will cross many stunning creeks, ponds and scenery. You will pass over a large bridge that is high over the marvelous jade green Nahatlatch River. As you cross the bridge you are entering the Nahatlatch Canyon and the next stretch winds along the northeastern side of the river. While you are driving, the Canyon starts opening into the River Valley that is separated by four amazing lakes. Each lake has their own unique color. The Nahatlatch has many great activities to offer such as our white water rafting which we are famous for. The Nahatlatch River has some of the best white water in Western Canada. Cabin rentals are available and many campgrounds are spread throughout the area.

 The Aerial Ferry was constructed in 1939 Officially opening to the public March 15 1940 operated as a aerial ferry (gondola) that suspended 1200 feet horizontally from the Cascade Mountain Range to the Coast Pacific Mountain Range crossing of the Fraser River in the mighty Fraser Canyon. The Aerial Ferry last operated in 1986 when it was replaced with the Cog Harrington bridge because of increasing timber volumes and a higher demand for faster transportation. The Aerial ferry has been fully restored and open for public viewing in the Francis Harrington Park along the Trans-Canada HYW downtown Boston Bar BC. The park is accompanied with a wide range of displays depicting the history of Boston Bar and the Fraser Canyon. open year round serves as a exciting and educational resting area while you visit the scenic Fraser Canyon.

Tuckkwiowhum

Tuckkwiowhum First Nations Village near Boston Bar BC is like a native dude ranch. This Aboriginal education center is complete with a little native village as it would look thousands of years ago before European settlers came to Canada.  Including a Tee Pee, Pit House, Summer Lodges,  St'wen House, Storage house and more. Located on the confluence of the Anderson River meeting the Fraser River Wedged  between the Cascade and Coast Pacific Mountain Range in the Fraser Canyon BC. Also on site enjoy there beautifully landscaped park, campgrounds and RV sites, sandy beaches along the Anderson river restaurant, convenience store/gas bar, interpretive nature trips and displays and interactive activities. This new attraction to the Fraser Canyon is conveniently located in a secluded area off the Trans-Canada Highway.

NAH-NOOSE

A giant water snake known by locals as Nah-Noose has been seen and talked about by the locals of this area for generations. One of the Nahatlatch Lakes is known to be "bottom less", it is told to have a several thousand foot deep canyon inside the lake, where Nah-Noose and "Family" are said to live. Although nobody has ever known to be hurt or killed by Nah-Noose, locals are still mildly afraid of this giant unknown creature. Described by natives as an extremely large snake like creature with small fins in the near the front and back of its body. It is said to have an ugly face with overhanging lip. Legends say that Nah-Noose can swim from each end of the lake so fast you can only see the trail of waves it leaves behinds.....
